Map File Error : Resulting crash
« on: March 06, 2018, 11:22:48 am »
I been making maps for a long time. and FireAlpaca has been my trusty assistant every time it comes to making maps. I didn't make any layers, and just made it to 513x513 in the file and when i come to import it into the game, it crashes. This is utterly new to me. heres what the map looks like.

If you just think my computer can't take map files anymore, could anyone be willing to help me complete the map?
  -Thank you

Everything looks fine on the photo.
Did you convert it to greyscale?

Map terrain looks very cool

When you're making a map terrain put on grayscale. I don't use FireAlpaca, but I have installed it :P

Also be sure Map terrain is PNG

One thing that took me ages to find when trying to figure out why my own Height maps were crashing was a certain setting - I'm not sure if it's on FA though. I tend to use a mix of GIMP and Photoshop, but after a bit of research, it came to my attention that I had to check a setting that was called 'Background Colour' (which basically made it white and easier to render).

Furthermore, make sure you're 513x513 is in pixels and not mm or cm, that can be accidentally done too.

Hope this helps ^^

Look at the beginning. i said 513x513. you should already assume its pixels, and not what other your said
