Custom Map trouble

Trying to make my own custom map, but literally every single time I try to input either my terrain or my mask into the game it crashes! Idk what I am doing wrong! Everything is one layer, I have followed the tutorials on both the site and YouTube, I made sure that both things are single layered. The terrain is grayscale, the mask is RGB. Idk what else to do! I need help!!! :'(

Is your terrain texture flattened? You did say it was one layer but it could be that it's being picky and wants it flattened.
Also, your heightmap is 513 x 513, correct? c:
