Making a map/crash

So im making a map for my new group. Ive already spent at least 10+ hours making it.

I adjusted the height map and reloaded it (Its worked before with no problem) And now feral heart wont even open.
I cant seem to figure it out why its crashing.

Id appreciate the help ASAP

This sometimes happens.
Try opening the art program and copying the height map and creating a new map file, with a slightly different name.
And delete the one that's making you crash
Also, check if you have any badfile's in you FeralHeart folder.

Alright! 1, how will the objects in the map be effected? 2, how do i check for bad files?

I just tried it. and deleted the old heightmap, and feral heart still wont open...

You can check badfiles when searching in the FH folder.
Hm, try deleting the map again and see if that's what's causing the issue. If it is, check if everything is correct: map should be 513 x 513 pixels in Greyscale and png file

The thing is ive been working on adding Objects all day. So i know i did the heightmap correctly, since everything worked just fine all day.
All i did was go to adjust the heightmap in an area (Which i had done previously with no issues, and it decided to not work.

Have you tried making a blank heightmap (just plain gray) and loading it up into Feralheart to see if it is a heightmap? Sometimes it really is just with a specific heightmap.

Here is a little check list:
-no particles ending in _0 or _1
Make sure your heightmap is the following:
-513x513
-Grayscale
-One Layer (merged before save)
-Flattened Image

I did that, still no dice. I even removed all the map contents and FH still crashes as soon as i click on the icon.

Adding on to what Antsy mentioned about the map file itself:

- Make sure there are no alpha channels either. If there is remove it.

I agree to definitely check out the particles folder for duplicates though as that tends to often be the issue with the crashing loading issues.

If that's the case then possibly try running it in a different rendering system. Like if it opens to at least the startup then use the drop down menu to select OpenGL if it is on Direct3D9 or if it is on Direct3D9 change it to OpenGL

if that doesn't work you'll probably just have to result in uninstalling completely and reinstalling because it could be a corrupted file issue
