Installing Feralheart 1.17 on MacOS using PlayOnMac

Please note that this thread was made before any official Mac installation thread for 1.17, so there may be inconsistencies in the future if an official thread is published. Still, in the meantime, feel free to reference this tutorial. If you experience any issues, feel free to detail them below or privately message me. This should also work similarly with Linux. Many of these screenshots do not require explanation and just need to have the same options clicked. Also a warning that the following spoiler is image heavy.

Download the Windows installer for 1.17 and open PlayOnMac. Double click FHSetup1.17.exe to begin the setup.







In reality, you can name your shortcuts and folder name to whatever you like, however, I suggest making it something obvious to show that it is the 1.17 version of the game. In regards to the following screenshot, Wine configuration may take a little bit of time in order for a virtual drive to be created, which is what Feralheart will run through.

















If you are prompted a second time about making a shortcut, select "I don't want to make another shortcut."





Now you have successfully installed Feralheart on your Mac! You are able to open the game by either double-clicking the desktop shortcut (pictured above), or by running the game through PlayOnMac's menu (pictured below).

Known errors and possible solutions:
1. "The program dxwsetup.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close." -> Uninstall and reinstall PlayOnMac with the newest version available. From there, retry the setup. If you still receive an error, please comment below.

Eh, i tried downloading that but it's only supported for windows ^^; sorry if this is too much of a problem.

Unfortunately the closest I got to getting the game to work was with the FHunix.pol script, but it seems to be outdated because I get told to download the new patch when I get to the main menu screen of the game. I have all the latest programs and patch. So frustrating, I want to play this game so bad.

PlayOnMac doesn't seem to want to open anymore? I was forced to update my mac to the new Catalina software, does that have anything to do with it?

The only thing I found that supports the latest version of Catalina right now is this

It has a free trial if you want to try it out but otherwise, it's $40 for just one version one time payment or a yearly sub for updates and support.

Edit: Not sure if it will work for FH though... :s
