Some Quick Questions
« on: July 09, 2011, 07:43:41 pm »
Is there a way, like after I make a map, I can maybe only allow certain people like my brother or friend? And I keep hearing about private maps. Is there public maps made by users?

If you upload your map to like, mediafire you can password protect your files so only the people that you want in your map can get it.
Look in the maps section of this site. Loads of maps, and most are public.

Can you explain the mediafire a bit further? How would a password protect it?

Once you upload your file, click the "My Files" link at the top, then put your mouse of the file, then go and click the "Actions" drop down, then click "Password Protect"

OK, would the other person have to download it?

And (I know I'm bugging you) wouldn't that count as their map? (Last question I think)

If they download it, it would count as their map, right? Like a duplicate, they would have a map exactly as mine?

No, it's still your map, since you created it. If you don't want them to have the original version which can be edted, you should export the map first. Exporting also combines many files to only one so its easier for them to install the map.
