Other Games / Looking for Programmers

I used to be an on this game everyday, but life got the better of me :/ Needless to say, I'm in the process of creating an MMORPG of sorts. I'm looking for at least one person who is well versed in Unity, and knows how to think creatively in solving problems with code. If anyone is interested, email [email protected] for more details.

I found out my problem. Again, I feel like an idiot. It turns out, that I deleted all the map files, but never removed the original .fho file from the exports folder. So, basically I had two identical portals, one leading to a non existent map. The odd thing was, the music still played regardless.... oh well... thanks for the suggestions... I'll be working on some item and object packs soon. I'll upload them when I can. They are mostly for my chars and the rp's I am in, but I can also do some requests upon occasion, depending on what they are.

No, I know what you are talking about. It doesn't crash FH, it is just the map itself. I've had issues with the .1's and .2 files... but no. It will plainly work for a while, and then suddenly stop working. That is after I have left the map, and try to return. The music will play, but it won't connect to the map. I built the map, and nothing is wrong in the map editor... so I'm confused as to why it won't let me on. I have done nothing with weather or sky files for this map either, so nothing is messed up with those... it just plainly wants to shut off on me after going in once...

Not even half an hour after I posted this... I figured it out. I just re exported (again) and kept the original file names, instead of renaming and applying the new name to everything. At first it gave me bone white, until I fixed a couple properties... I feel like an idiot. But the map problem is still at large... any ideas?

Hmmm.. I can honestly say that I have never seen that error before, but perhaps trying to reinstall FH? You might have accidentally corrupted a file. (I've had to reinstall about 4 times for various reasons) Just make sure, after you delete FH off your programs, to drag everything from the FH folder to your desktop or something, so when you reinstall, you can put it all back. I'm sorry, I can't think of anything else at this point. Though, sometimes certain areas of certain maps cause letters to repeat themselves llliiike tthis. But it would seem you weren't complaining of lag, so I have no other solution right now.

Alright, so I don't feel like doing anything fancy in my post, so it will just be plain text.

Part 1: Item Making

Unlike creating objects (which is a lot easier in my point of view...) I have not been able to get the items to work properly for wearing. I exported using the IOgre exporter for Cinema 4d, because I do not have the slightest clue on how to use Blender. (I find it completely messed up in every way....) When the export finished, it gave me two files. An xml, and a .material. I used the converter to convert xml to .mesh. I should be done, right? Wrong... when loading it into FH, it comes out all... silvery... so I tried changing the attributes in the items.cfg, and the item materials.cfg... in the end, I only made it turn bone white, and then miraculously get some of the right coloration... just distorted. To prove my point, I went into object maker, and lo and behold... I was able to get the mesh and material to work perfectly! So, does anyone have any solutions to getting something like this to work correctly? The reason it worked well in object maker, is because I baked the material in C4D, and saved it as a jpg... then applied it to the mesh in the OM. But, I was just wondering, if anyone knew how to cause the .mesh to automatically grab the picture I made, instead of the messed up silvery effect it was giving off... any help would be appreciated..

Part 2: Map Error

I have made a map, and well... it works great. I'll be in it in the morning and kinda running around in it. Then, if I get on later, it won't load right... and never will after that. I have to re create the exact same map, and then the process repeats. It'll work perfectly, and then randomly stop working. Absolutely no changes are being done to anything... I can't figure this one out either....

Thanks for that, I had downloaded glaves particles before hand ^^ I love them actually. Though what I'm more focused on is making a science lab map for a demon RP I'm in.... long story but my mate likes to make potions XD

PS. I love how html does not work.... at all.... I had a very nice table that wouldn't show.

Absolutely love the fog, I needed something to make a more realistic waterfall... and thanks to you, I have it. I just wish that it didn't lag so much :/

Also, I wish html worked here -_-

I will be making a map, that is moreso a potion room, it will have some books and such, but I don't have any sciency things to put into the map whatsoever...

Potion Bottles - lot's of colors
Viles - big and small
Test tubes
A cauldron of sorts
Some particle effects to go with items..

The room will be fairly dark, and seem to be lit with candles, as it is somewhat a hidden area to begin with... just some help with these items would be nice, and thank you in advance.

Ps. I have a feeling that HTML does not work on here... but we will see...
