As much as this idea is a really good one, that need cannot be met due to Kovu leaving us behind and taking the code with him. However people do add presets and markings and even items to make your character unique and quite familiar and recognisable as a different specie.
I do sometimes wish there could be horses, bears and even birds. People could customize the horses into giraffes by making the neck longer or into a zebra by changing the markings or even a deer/stag. And the bears could be a panda or red panda or even a sloth. whereas birds could be albatrosses, seagulls, crows, robins, eagles etc whatever floats ya boat floof.
However I am aware that Impressive title contains such models of deer, bears, wolves, lions etc. xD well IT servers overall.
