If lag bothers you, I think the simple solution is just making your own map.
You don't have to wait for dimensions to be put in - just get to work on a map of your own design!

So.. no, I don't see dimensions as a requirement for FH.

Not everyone is so 'gifted' to make their own maps.

I keep seeing this suggestion made, over and over again. Really, I do believe saying it once, is more then enough.

ok i only got to page three before i got annoyed with people who wants dims. i never played I.T. but hey they knew about lag when playing lower the viewing distance, turn off water reflection and what ever else they put to lower graphics it cuts lag. don't be lazy download player made maps if you want to get away they are usually empty anyway.  i know i have downloaded several and have never run into another player.... kinda sad actually. anyway just stop being all about you i think kov made map makeing easy it took awhile but there are plenty of guides to making maps and yes it is time consuming but if you want to be alone make a map.

It's not about 'all about you' as you put it. What of the people that have old, really slow computers as it is? It ruins their chance to play the game, and have fun.

We want dims' to reduce lag, and hopefully have more people easily playing the game. Rather then seeing nemours threads' asking for help, as to why they can't get in. Or asking to do something about the lag, ect. Complaining about their computer freezing up, or crashing all together.

btw if there is this thread... then what about the ppl with older graphics cards? whose chars are white all the time, and there is no color?
the solution for that: upgrade or buy a new graphics card.
so i guess the solution for this would be the same...
im not saying im thrilled by this solution... but this is what we got.

But that has nothing to do with this thread. Seeing we are talking about dim's, not graphics.

lag has something to do with graphics cards as well.
my sister and me use the same internet, yet her g.card is older (much older) then mine. she is lagging like hell, while i can play without problems.

Lag perhaps. But it has nothing to do with graphics or graphic cards.

Lag simply caused by too many peeps crowding in one spot, thus making the map and or area lag.

the true meaning of my statement above:
if the graphics card issue wasnt solved either (and its a much older issue-could be solved easily though...just change the graphics settings a bit, so we can go even lower)
then i guess this one wont be solved either, ergo the only thing we can do is make maps, and hide there from the crowd.

Gargantor is speaking the truth - ALOT of people want dims in order to solve their lag issue BECAUSE there's alot of people in one area. I have a decent graphics card and I don't lag minor to non in bon-fire on a saturday, on the other hand people with older cards can't take looking at more than 5 people in the screen at once without crashing

Others however, want it to RP in a map privately.

I'd have to say I'm on the edge about this...if you have dims, you won't meet as many people. Sure, people cause lag for some of us, but you can just go somewhere else... But it does have good effects...
