Quick Question About GIMP/Height Maps
« on: January 07, 2013, 10:08:20 pm »
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, but it has to do with creating height maps. I know HOW to do it, and have done it before. But, when I go to create the actual height map, the brush comes out to thick and bright, how do I tone it down?

Annd instead of making a new topic, I'll just post another question here. When I enter a mesh into the object maker, it comes out pure white. How do I fix this?

Thanks!

Well, you can change the colour of your brush, also, to smoothen it you can use the blur tool.

Make sure you have put the correct texture for the object in the texture box. If there aren't any textures for it, try re-downloading.

Just adding a bit to what Zaroque said when it comes to the GIMP question you can adjust the brightness by clicking the "opacity" option and you can change the size of the brush tool by clicking where it says "scale" in the spots I circled below. Just move the slider to change it:

Not sure if that's what you mean but I hope that helps. Also sorry about the derpy pic I couldn't crop the image right since my touch pad is acting up.
