He could hear that the river was close now, so they would be able to put a barrier between them and those infected things.

     Abyss sighed faintly as she felt the mud squishing between her toes. As soon as they'd take a step, the rain would fill the paw prints with water, and erase them.

Maska blinked some rainwater from his eyes and followed the others silently, the little black pup swaying in his jaws. He halted with them as the familiar red kite revealed followers, possibly infected followers. The brute let out a muffled growl and nodded in agreement to Zanu at keeping moving. Extending his strides to a swift trot, he quickly tagged behind them, the sound of nearby rushing water making his keen ears twitch a bit.

Soon Zanu could here the familiar whirring of wind as Khar swooped in gliding over his ear as he walked, he reported what he had seen.
"Two of the wolves killed the one, and are now following the trail we are on, I can confirm they are infected, and getting closer"
Zanu looked around at the other wolves, to make sure they had heard this, before quickining his pace, hoping to get to that river soon flooded or not.

     A growl thundered in Abyss's chest. Even if they were to get across the river, there was the fact that the virus could have gone over the river to animals that had already gone over it before. But, now they had to speed things up, and make it across before the two got to them. "Let's kick it into gear, then." She said, now trotting.
     Li followed her closely. His strides were worth two of hers. The tiger was the same way, being careful, and trying to make Regret's ride as smooth as possible.

Maska glanced up at the red kite, a low rumbling growl immediately crawling up his throat at what the bird had confirmed. Koda's large ears flicked up, a feared whine escaping his maw. The brute flicked his tail and trotted quicker, ensuring he kept up with the others. In this case falling behind could mean death.

Zanu could hear the rushing of water, and broke into a slight run as he found the edge of the river. It was flooded and moving rapidly. He dipped a foot in it, and could feel the power of the current already trying to sweep him away.
"It would be suicide to try and swim through that." He muttered, looking for a better way across. Khar was doing the same, using his high point in the air as an advantage.

Maska broke into a lope, darting after Zanu, Koda bouncing in his jaws, whining. He skidded to a halt at the muddy bank of the river, growling. Lowering his head, he set the pup down to free his mouth for speech. Koda instantly clambered to cower under him. "Well then, what are we supposed to do?" Maska snapped, snarling quietly over the rushing river.

Zanu heard the snap in the wolf's voice and flickered his eyes over to him.
"Find a way across" He said simply, pacing up the bank of the river, dipping his foot in every now and then to check the power of the current in a specific spot.
He was trying to remain calm, though his instincts told him the infected wolves wouldn't be far behind. But it would be unwise to panic, as he knew it clouded the mind, making it near impossible to think.
That's what gets you killed.

"Obviously.." Maska growled, rolling his eyes at the unsatisfying answer. Turning around, he picked up the pup again and trudged after the brute, visibly annoyed. Head low, he picked his paws up high as he marched through the thick mud, tail high.
