As the white mare passed him, Mordecai frowned and pelted forward after her, his jockey leaning forward and bobbing up and down as the colt galloped madly after her. Ryan tugged back on the reins, letting the Thoroughbred skid next to Flicka. As they removed the saddle from him, his usually glistening chestnut coat was darkened bay in some places. His legs were shivering, and spit trickled down his lips as he bent down to drink. Mordecai lashed his tail out, flicking his ears forward at the mare. "Ey, I wasn't even started with the race. You did like, 7 laps." The colt nickered before cocking his head sideways as his trainer handed him an apple. Chomping it down, he whinnied and started to drink the water again.

Flicka watched as the colt joined her once again, looking at him a smirk grew across her face. Nodding her head slightly then letting out a sigh "7 laps and still going strong!" She nickered almost trying to tease the youngster as she smiled once more; Aaron kicking at her sides making her excell into a light trot. Her hooves lightly thudding the ground as the pure white mare danced across the sandy track her tail flicking as she looked back at the trainer who had his clipboard and the times out ready to time the mare. Her head flicked up as a neigh escaped her maw and a snort flaring past her nostrils, her jockey pulling back on the reins as he leant forward and rougly patted the mares sweta coated neck. "Hold it girl, we'll be running in no time!" He chuckled at the eagre mare as they continued trotting down the track.

"Well, good luck with your racing. I'm sure you're doing fine in racing." The young colt grinned. Silent steps alerted him that his trainer was approaching, and so did Ryan. "Good boy, Mordy.  One more work-out in about, three hours and you're done for the day!" The man patted Mordecai's sponge-soft snout, taking his bridle and leading him to the paddock to rest.

Flicka

Flicka looked at the young chestnut and smiled "Well thank you.." She muttered with a dip of her head then looking back at the cold as he lead away. "Good luck to you to!" She neighed as she was forced to turn around and excell into a gallop across the sand filled course, souring across the ground with ease as she was then took into a canter; hitting the starting point Flicka sprinted. Her legs fully extended and her head free allowing her to go her full potential and top speed. The white mares hooves thudded the ground as Aaron motioned back and forth in the saddle; his hands behind the mares neck slightly pushing urging her faster. Like a white strike of lightning she bounded across the course, finishing soon after. She continued running for a minute or so and soon slowed down as they reached Stephen. Stopping infront of him a smile seemed plastered on his face Aaron raising a brow as he looked at him. "Well I must say she's coming along smoothly!" He shouted in a rather excited tone "What did she run?" The jockey asked curiuosly. "This little beauty ran 1:05!" He excolaimed patting the mare on the neck then rubbing it "One of the bestest times I've seen all day!" He smirked patting her once again. "That's great!" Aaron smiled "It sure is, let her rest up until our next training session.." He muttered and Aaron nodded leaning forward and patting the mare on the neck as they headed towards the barn so he could hose her down, brush her then let her into the pasture. Her hooves tapping against the concrete as they made their way towards the stables.

Prehistory

Thunder snorted as the vet walked into his stall. The vet smiled, "Hello Thunder. Remember me?" Thunder bobbed his head, then stomped his feathered hoof. The vet pet him for a bit, then frowned. He turned and left the stall, talking with Tucker and Peter. He could hear their muttering, but couldn't make out the exact words. After the vet left Tucker came in, "You have an infection, Thunder. We are going to have to take you to the vet." "But I don't want to go!" He whinnied.

Tia

Tia leapt over the jump with ease, this time having a softer landing a snort flaring past her nostrils as he ran across the grass; extending her leags as she leapt over another water jump. Amie patted her gently on the neck saying quiet words of praise; coming to the last jump she jerked back and leapt up landing on the ground swiftly. Her reind was tugged right and she turned and trotted towards their trainer. "Nice round, take her to the stall and we'll train again later" he smiled and patted the mare on the neck. Trotting down the hill she watched as other horses began to also enter and exit the barn; a snort flaring past her nostrils as she felt another pat on her neck "Nice work Tia!" She smiled as she sat back in the saddle. Nodding her head she let out a neigh as her hooves tapped against the concrete ground.

The Thoroughbred watched as the bolt of white crossed the track with ease, his mouth filled with soft green shards of grass as he ate. "That was nice!" He exclaimed, slashing his tail across the air. "We should run together sometimes." Mordecai dipped his head, ears prickling forward as his trainer leaned over the fence to pet him. "Okay Mordy, I know you may be tired but this will be our last work out for the day, okay Mordy?" Ryan swiftly bounded away to retrieve his saddle and get his jockey this time.

Chestnut pelt shimmering, the colt rocketed forward from the starting point, sand acting as dust behind him; Mordecai thundered forward as the jockey kicked at his sides. Cream hooves struck ground repeatedly as he pelted on. Soon enough, he eyed the homerun. Leg muscles flexing, his strides became much wider to cover more ground as he sped forward. His nostrils flaring and ears pinned against his scalp, he leaped over the finish line before trotting to a stop. The timer clicked. "1:05! Just like the pretty girl over there!" Mordecai flashed a smirk towards the white female, his shoulders shuddering. "Lead Mordy to his stall, he needs the rest." His trainer spoke. The jockey softly kicked at Mordecai's flank, making him trot forward towards the stables.

Flicka arrived at the large door of the stable, her ears flicking as she looked at the vet; her ears pinning to her head as she heard Aaron chuckled and patted her neck. "Its alright girl, its just an injection.." He muttered leaping off the mare and leading her into the stable area. Pulling off her bridle he placed on a head collar and lead rope then lead her towards the ring; tying her up he unclipped the girth and pulled off the saddle. Placing it in the tack room he soon exited and unwrapped the hose from the reel and turning it on by the tap. Holding the tube he began hosing the mare down a snort escaping her maw as she pawed at the ground then letting out a neigh slamming at the puddles. Chuckling at her actions he held up a hand trying to blocom hitting him "Whoa girl!" He laughed once again. Once finished he turned off the tap and tied in the hose then grabbing the brush box and searching through it. Grabbing out one of the brushes he began brushing down the mare, patting her lightly as he done so; then placing the brush back in the box he grabbed out another comb for the mares mane. Standing at her side he began brushing the small tats out and getting out any dirt; standing at the side of her rump he grabbed her tail and began brushing it. Returning it back to the box he grabbed the hoof-pick and ligted up her back hooves first; scraping out any dirt then doing the same with the other hooves. The vet came into the stable and he smiled shaking the mans hand. They began talking and Flicka waited for her injection. Snorting she looked at the vet tilting her head; her ears now lifted as her hoof scraped across the ground. Feeling refreshed she remained standing relaxed awaiting for the injection.

Entering the stable she watched as the vet was there, smiling as Tia was one of the first to get her injection. Taking off her tack she allowed the vet to go into the stall with the mare. Watching cautiously as the vet entered a snort flared past her nostrils, letting out a whinne as a buring feeling was felt through the bottom of her neck. "All done!" He smiled as he rubbed the spot and opened to door "She's all done, should be fine she's a healthy horse!" He smiled and walked towards the other "Thanks.." Amie smiled and grabbed a brush from the box. Going into the stall she brushed the mare and smiling as she nodded her head up and down "Time to put you in the pasture girl!" Amie muttered as she clipped the lead rope onto her head collar and led her towards the pastures.
