you can't open .mesh with blender

I've been looking for the same thing for a month. V_v
The most I could find is this bundle of scripts that you put in the scripts folder in Blender's files.

.mesh .mesh.xml importers
I just found these so I'm not sure if they work yet, but when I get on my PC I'll try them myself. I'm still not sure if they import skeleton files either.

I'mma go and look around right now because I really need a importer as well. Also, if you need an exporter, PM me and I'll give ya' the link. :3

(If anyone else has an importer, please do inform me too- I've been wanting one x3)

EDIT:

To import meshes, you first have to download a version of OgreCommandLineTools that allows .xml.mesh to .mesh, but also .mesh to .xml.mesh, which can then be imported to Blender.
I believe that is OGRE CommandLineTools 1.6.0 that you'd be looking for then..
and as for the actual importer script, you'll need import for Torchlight, which allows import of .mesh.xml... let me find a site for you..
Here;
https://code.google.com/p/torchlight-to-blender/
this should help clear things up a bit.
If that's what you could not seem to make work, then I'd offer to help if you could provide a more detailed explanation? c:

And yes, Sculptris to FH will not be possible unless you can find a OGRE exporter plugin for Sculptris, so you'll have to export from Sculptris as an .obj which can be imported to Blender, then exported again as a .mesh

Try this. ;W;

I'm afraid you'll need to download all of this--The converting tools are only compatable with Blender v2.49.

Quote from: Myself
I. - Required Downloads & Installation
-If you have newer versions of any of these, move/delete them, they won't work. You MUST have the exact downloads below.
**If you do not have a program that can open .rar files, you'll need 7-Zip.

Python
Blender

Download and install Python and Blender first.

Secondly, you'll need these scripts for Blender.

Exporter
Script Bundle

Once you have the scripts downloaded, you'll need to EXTRACT the contents, and copy them to the scripts folder, located in
C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts
OR
C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts

Conclusively, you'll need the

Old OgreCommandLineTools.
Pass: ITOCLT

Once you have downloaded the .rar, extract it directly to your C: drive. Don't worry, there is a folder inside the rar, so extracting it directly won't cause the contents to spill all over your C: drive.

^ Everything I use, and it works pretty darn good for me.
Now, once you got all that jazz.
In Blender you go to File->Import
find your Object Files, make sure Smooth Groups is selected, and import it,
then you make sure what you want to export as a mesh is selected (selecting in blender is right click)
Then Export->OGRE Meshes
and export it to wherever, preferably into your OgreCommandLineTools folder, then drag & drop the .mesh.xml onto the OgreXMLConverter.exe and it will spit out a .mesh.
It's a very complex process if you don't find that plugin (if it exists) for Sculptris.
Such is the way of making/editing a game I guess.

I suppose I could have explained better, but I didn't in case you didn't want to go through all this Blender jazz.

For the scripts you have to install, you have to go into every single folder and put them all into Blender's scripts folder. Then try the quotes above this post.

Good luck!
