Try re-installing them, don't edit anything. They should work fine.

I put them in the models folder but the claws dont show up

do you know if there is anyway to just have the claws, not claws+mane? (I hardly use manes, and the characters I do make don't have manes?  would it be just matter of erasing the mane mesh in the file, and keeping the claw?

EDIT: I tried to open it in a picture editing programme and it wouldn't open, it's a right pile of gobbledy-gook if you open it in word pad! So, yeah, unless if someone makes it as an item......
