(If there's a thread that I missed (did some searching, couldn't find anything) that already solves this issue, I'd be BEYOND thankful if someone could redirect me on over to it.)
Hi! Got me a new Chromebook recently (long story short, can't quite get a laptop yet) and this is my first time using Linux and not Windows on our desktop for gameplay. (Veteran player, but new account here.)
After a loooong process of figuring out how the heck everything works and typing in a whole buncha silly manual code because Ctrl+V didn't want to be my friend for some reason, I finally downloaded both Wine and PlayOnLinux, and FINALLY got FH installed and working!
But the problem is that it's not truly working. I can't connect to the server because it's insistently prompting that I download the latest patch.
Is it that I did something wrong during download?
Or is playing on Linux not quite possible at the moment?
I could try getting myself a Windows emulator, assuming my Chromebook could handle it, and figure out how to get it working from there, but I'd love to know if there's something I could do to get it running through PlayOnLinux.
If there's any more info I can provide on the problem, or anything along those lines, I'd be happy to provide.
But hhhhheavens, it'd be a dream if I could actually get it running on my Chromebook.
(As a follow up- is running it solely through Wine instead of PlayOnLinux an option, here? I'm still not ENTIRELY sure I know how the silly thing works, but if someone could give me even a bare-bones guide as to how, I'd be very, very grateful. ^^)
