Game Discussion / Re: Best Computer?
« on: December 02, 2013, 06:19:21 pm »
I have an old PC and I move around a lot on FH, and since I am getting a new PC.. I was wondering if someone could suggest what kind would be best for downloading maps and other things for the game without it laggin hardcore or crashing. And hopefully will be compatible with going into maps, not just downloading them.

This is great for any decent PC/Laptop you might get. What I do advise you on avoiding though is Toshiba, Dell, and Acer.

The rest of the laptops will be well for downloading and from crashing. If you want to buy a fairly cheap laptop with good specs, you should probably look up ASUS, Lenevo, Fujitso. On an exception on avoiding Acer laptops, I currently have an Acer Aspire V571 with Windows 8. It runs well with FeralHeart and with downloading. Good luck.

Introduction / Introduction - Black Serpent
« on: December 02, 2013, 05:53:45 pm »
I'd like to introduce myself in a more welcoming manner. I have been role-playing for
quite a long time and I'm experienced with role-play on some various levels. I'm known as Black-Serpent in
the game of FeralHeart and (already) friends with another user on the game who too is also interested
in serpents and my foundations.

But I would also like to know others in-game and on the forums. I've yet to meet and become friends with
anybody else that might be interested in getting to know me. Do not be shy, do not worry, I do not bite or
conform to general stupidity.
I'm not going to give much details about myself, as that is for you to find out, but I will give a head start with
what I would give. I'm a male that lives in Europe, and I am an admirer of European culture, philosophy, history,
military, as well as motoring & art.
I will not give an age but I am between the age of 15 - 25. I can assure you however I am certainly not under
the age of 16.

I am used to role-playing on sites that are forums and now through these days it is becoming increasingly
rare to come across (preferred)forums. I'm lucky to have found FeralHeart as I've seen some bright role-players
(and terrible ones) on here, and I hope to expand, progress, and join in the fun with the community.

I'm currently in the pre-military training program as well as working in the gym
(it is part of the military program.) A healthy male that is open-minded to even the most
controversial topics that any would dare discuss about, to work with and spend time with some
friends (if I do have the time!) and into revisionism.

Don't be afraid to send a friend request to my User. I will get back to you in no time! Fair well. ;)

Edit: Provide your User details so I can add you.

Forum Discussion / Re: girls or guys?
« on: December 02, 2013, 05:02:20 pm »
Aye, I've noticed the large number of faes who play rather than guys in-game and on the forums...

I know this will sound really geeky, but I looked up the definition of fae (Asuming it would be another word for female) but this is what I found:

fae

noun
a device consisting of a container of fuel and two explosive charges; the first charge bursts open the fuel container at a predetermined height and spreads the fuel in a cloud that mixes with atmospheric oxygen; the second charge detonates the cloud which creates an enormous blast wave and incinerates whatever is below.

A fae is an explosive.... are you calling girls explosive? xD

But moving on to this:

Aye, I've noticed the large number of faes who play rather than guys in-game and on the forums...

That sounds terrible.

Terrible? If you're being sarcastic, I don't see it. But are girls really that bad? >.> What did we ever do to you?

~Starry
No, no. You misunderstood. It was indeed sarcastic as the definition of fae isn't female, it means Fuel-Air Explosive.

Game Discussion / Re: Is Always Winning Really That Important?
« on: December 02, 2013, 04:56:52 pm »
It's a common thing to wanting to be the perfect fighter and win every battle. Yes, we can look at the scenario in a fantasy point of view, however, even in fantasy, there is imperfection. Not everyone wins, the "hero" doesn't always get the last laugh. If they did, would they be interesting in a whole?

With a character that is spot on with everything, in this case, winning, how are they interesting? What does it say about the character themselves? Yes, we could agree they are strong, but is that it? Winning does not define the character, interaction and progression does. In my opinion, if there is no loses, how can your character grow? In developing a character, it is great to see how they learn and improve themselves in whatever story-line they are put into.

It's of nature for one that wishes to express dominance and ferocity in a game that possess
the ability to battle. When one approaches another that peeks to challenge, it is there to see who shall
come on top. The two that possess great tenacity and pompous pseudo-achievements and that appear
as one of the 'best' fighters in the game, it is again of nature for one to challenge. Looking at historical figures, specifically in Greece,
you can see Gladiators battle to the death for example. Would one like to lose to a
crowd, and to lose their character? Absolutely not. Unless furtherance with planning would depict a clear
plot on who the victor would be, it is necessary that one in peril would respectively be defeated as in
accordance to the plot.

For my experience and my value of fighting in role-play (as well as in reality), I would not like to lose to
any fight at all. Losing a fight leaves guilt, shame, and embarrassment. These emotions described in reality
integrate with Feralheart as many are already aware that emotions on here can be noticed if one is taken
seriously. Most role-play battles on FeralHeart are took very seriously, and that answers what I described as above.

Though yes, winning is an important factor when it comes down to fighting, and it does
progress your character, define what character it is, and what sort of interaction it may have on others as long as the
player acknowledges the character as a whole and the talents it has.

Buy a laptop. From there on it should be much easier to rectify issues like this.

Game Discussion / Re: Wolf Speak makes your RP more realistic.

I do not conform to this 'wolf-speak'. I have saw for myself what it was.
Fellow role-players are misunderstood time & time again, and often confuse one another.
Although wolf-speak has been around for a very long time now, people will (eventually) adapt to it.

I personally have distaste with wolf-speak because it doesn't fit in the
morales of role-play of my preference, let alone with the ludicrous over-use of
adjectives with using a Thesaurus.

Can you please define 'dark' quotes? As in referring to mysterious, perhaps?
