Anocks eyes were alight with wonder "Woah..." she uttered in an astonished tone. She walked forward, her toes sinking into the snow. She stood still for a moment taking it all in, and without a seconds notices she took off running into the castle with excitment, she wanted to explore it. She climbed into the watchposts where the vikings once stood watch for any intruders, she climbed down and soon explored the dens that vikings once slept in, out of the harsh enviornments of the mountain cold. She found armor and weapons, which she picked up in her mouth and swung around, dangerous yes, but did she care... No... after a couple minutes of play she disapeared from sight, and the castle grounds were once again quiet.  The air Whistled through the air, but still no sign of Anock, but she was there... Her gaze was upwards in the big hall, she stared at a tapestry, the only thing left untouched, that hung high, blowing with the winter winds. She did not know why, but its symbols captivated her, drew her closer, she was frozen with wonder.

Ragnar watched her run about like a cub, curious and in awe. He watched grimly, thinking of his own exploration of the castle and its grounds. He followed her into the great hall as she looked up at a large tapestry.

"That tapestry tells a story," he said, sitting behind her. His low voice made the hall echo. "It's about the viking's voyage here with the Beasts. It tells of their training, and the destruction of villages under the viking's might."

He looked up at the symbols of the wall. He did not know how he knew the story. He just did. It was just another fact of life for him.

The great lion stood again and turned, padding out of the hall. He exited the huge front doors and into the courtyard, where eroded statues stood depicting maidens and vikings and dragons. He sat there, staring at the far wall. There, just visible through the ice that had formed on the stone, was a large bloodstain. There was one, lone pawprint in blood next the the splatter. He shuddered and put a paw on his maned head, feeling the scar there. He sat and the snow gathered on his body as he lived in the past.

"You! You made her leave!"

"No, father, please, it was not my fault!"

"It's you're fault, all right! If you hadn't told her what I had said, she would still be here!"

"Father? Please, wait, I can explain! No! FATH-"

Ragnar looked down at his paws, the memory clear as day in his mind's eye. It had hurt. He was abandoned, he knew. His father didn't care about him. He knew that now. He vowed that no one would get close enough to hurt him again, that day. He remembered that vow with a furrowed brow.

(hehehe playing hard to get >:P thats my kinda game!!! xD)

Anock jumped at his voice, and turned around to him as he padded out of the hall. She cocked her head to the side as he stood in the courtyard staring at the wall across the way. She frowned, something was bothering him. At this point in time, she knew it would be rude to ask him why he was so distant about this place, but she was a persistant lioness, always curious, a little too curious for her own good. She padded out of the hall, stoping and staring back at the tapestry one last time before closing the great hall doors with her back left leg. She walked and sat by Ragnar, trying to match his gaze to see exactly what he was gazing at. She spotted a splotch of blood against the far wall and her ears shot back instantly... She swallowed hard and in a timid voice asked "Is that yours...."... She looked up at the large male with a sad expression ears flat against her head, mane slightly ascue.

(XD oh yeahssss)

Ragnar only nodded to Anock's question. He had a vacant look in his eye, still living in the past. All he did was stare, and stare. He looked at the pawprint on the wall. It was his own, only much smaller. I should have never come back to this place, He thought sadly. Then, thinking of Anock, he thought that maybe it wasn't as bad as he thought. She seemed to like his castle well enough. He had lived here forever, long after his mother and father had left. It seemed haunted when he was alone, but Anock brought some kind of brightness that he hadn't noticed in a very long time.

But yet he sat, and he stared.

Anock sat there and wondered... she knew better not to ask any more questions. She got up, shaking the snow off her pelt and padded off into a small house to their left. She returned with a large peice of fabric and drapped it over Ragnars back to keep him warm. She sat back down and looked at her paws, allowing him to think in peice. She found a small pebble and played with it nervously between her front paws, batting it back and forth. It had been some time later that Anock began to notice the winds picking up and the snow begining to fall thicker. She glanced over at ragnar out of the corner of her eye then looked back to the ground. She began to shiver, even though she was a nordic lion, the winds still ate through her young adult coat that had not yet fully thickened. After a couple more minutes passed, she shook the snow from her pelt and leaned up against Ragnar laying her head alongside his paws, she hoped that if they were closer, she could at least get some of his body heat. Although she was freezing cold, she didnt want to leave his side, but she did not know why. She felt as if he needed someone there for him, his tough outter shell was just a defense he had put up, and she could see it clearly now. She wouldnt leave his side, not until he was done. And with this set in stone, She layed there motionless like a rock.

Ragnar felt the fabric on his broad shoulders and he felt the heat coming off of Anock's body. Faithful, he observed. And patient...

The Beast glanced down at her from the corner of his eye. She seemed cold to him. He finally stood, his body numb with cold, and helped her up. He gave her a wistful smile, one that said, Thank you for doing this for me, and lead her inside the great doors of the main hall. He padded quietly up one of the sets of stone staircases and went up into the main chambers of the castle. He led her to the room at the end of the hall and pushed open the wooden door with one massive paw. He squeezed through the narrow door and walked into the room.

It was a simple, small room. It had no windows, offering protection from the freezing winds outside. The walls were stone, but the floor was wooden. Surprisingly, it hadn't rotted yet. In one corner lay a nest of some of the tapestries that had been torn from the wall, and on the opposite wall there were long vertical marks where Ragnar had sharpened his claws.

He looked down shyly, standing in the middle of the room. He glanced up briefly and smiled. "Well, now you know where I live," He sat, snow still leaving droplets in his mane and fur where it had melted.

Anock shook the water from her pelt and looked up at the male and smiled. She slowly stoped shivering and looked around the room, admiring it in all of its glory. Although the room was simple, she was used to living in a cave, with a simple bed of leaves to lay upon, this seemed much more like home. "I like it." She said cheerfully. She looked at the nest of tapestries in one corner 'must be his bed.' she said to herself. She looked around at the rest of the room and found a small little corner vertical from Ragnars bed. She slowly made her way over to it, circled a few times then layed down. She wasnt too terribly tired, but the cold still ate at her bones, curling in a ball would help her warm up faster. She rested her head gentle on her paws and smiled up at Ragnar "Comfy." she simply said.

Ragnar shook his head. He didn't know where his inner gentleman came from, but he approached her in her corner and said, "You go ahead and sleep in my bed. I can sleep here. It's warmer in there." Before he could protest, he said, "I'm used to living in these mountains, and I have a thicker coat than you do."

(heeeee, short ^^)

Anock shook her head "No im fine... i  made you sleep in the hollow last night, the least i could do is let you sleep in your own bed." She smiled and layed her head back on her paws staring at the ground, daydreaming.

Ragnar stood there, a disapproving look on his face. He then went over to his nest of tapestries and pulled one out, the thick material making his mouth dry. He dragged it over her and laid it over her body, then stood back to look at his work. Satisfied, he padded over to his bed and curled up, but in a lazy looking way. He had one back leg hanging over the side and his front paws splayed out in front of him.

He gazed sleepily over at the wall he had sharpened his claws on, when he took a quick glance over at Anock. Curiously, he asked, "What are you thinking about?"
