((Hey Milleni~ Mind if Metis runs into Eve?))
The vulpix's gaze immediately focused on the Piplup, the first to talk. She recognized him as Tsar, and once she did, regretted stopping at this particular stand.
"Novels in seashells~ rather random I know, thought you'd figure out what we sold, considering you walk past us everyday." Metis could feel her face heating up, and not because of the last part of Tsar's sentence, and not because she was embarrassed. Yes, she definitely regretted stopping here... She might have been inclined to check out one of the bird Pokemon's written works if she weren't pressed for time...
...And if she knew how to read...
Shaking her head to banish those thoughts, she glanced at the other stand as Tsar mentioned it selling berries and other things. A pair of deep black eyes were peering over the top of the counter at her though what seemed to be a white skull helmet. Tsar mentione his name, Karak, and she vaguely remembered who the meek soul was. Tsar went on to continue putting his shells away, which Metis was secretly grateful for. Turning to the silent Cubone, she reared up onto her back legs and placed her front paws on top of the counter so that she was eye level with him.
"Three of each of berries you have." Metis requested, amethyst eyes narrowed as if irritated by something. Nodding, Karak scarmbled down from his little stool and went to his baskets of berries as fast as he could, gathering them into his arms. There was a loud crash from Tsar's stand, causing Karak to gasp and nearly drop his armful of berries. Tense silence.
"Well, that's wonderful~" Came Tsar's voice.
Glad that it wasn't something deadly, the Cubone turned to face his customer again, struggling to get back onto his stand with his hands occupied. Placing the items onto the counter gently so as not to bruise them, he looked back up at the violet-eyed kitsune. "60 poke, ma'am." He said.
Metis, having already counted the currency in the short time it took Karak to gather her things, slammed the coins down on the counter. Shoving the berries into her bag, she nodded at the Cubone. "Thanks, kid." She paused, blinking, "I, uh, didn't ask for these..." She was referring to the two apples that were in her bag along with her berries.
"Keep them." Karak said softly with a small smile. Metis smirked and nodded again, bounding off to finish her mission.
