Elizabeth nods, and brings another plate out shyly. "I made strawberry pie..." she sets it on the table, and sits down next to him carefully.

 Billy simply nodded a thank you and flashed a short half smile, keeping his gaze downward at the pie. He sat still and unusually quiet for a bit, almost seeming like something was bothering him. However, he attempted to shrug it off and quickly change his mood with hopes that Elizabeth wouldn't care to notice or say anything about his quiet behavio.

You okay...? You ain't actin right..." she feels his forehead gently, her hands cool. "you seem a little warm..you feel okay?"

[Jackkdaw]

Billy gave his head a quick shake. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." He replied through a huffed chuckle as she felt his forehead.  His mood quickly shifted to a more serious one as he glared downward again. After a drawn out pause, he let out a sigh. "Look, I don't think I kin stay here for too much longer." He mumbled at last, glancing up at her.

[daiseydd]

Elizabeth sighs. "how long til ya gotta go...?" she looks up at him, her blue eyes wide and sad. "I was hopin you'd stick around for awhile..."

[Jackkdaw]

"Well I was hopin' that, too, but-" Billy looked back down at the table top. "Things have- come up." He finished, a short pause between the words 'have' and 'come' as he tried to figure out a way to word it.

[daiseydd]

You'll come back right...? And visit..? And stay for a night when ya come back this way?" Elizabeth blinks up at him. "how long ya think you'll be gone?"

[Jackkdaw]

He shrugged his shoulders, returning his gaze up to her again. "That's the problem." He stated, still tapping his fingers against the table. "From what I heard in town earlier today, it would be best for me not to be comin' 'round here anymore." He muttered.

[daiseydd]

Oh..." her eyes well up with big tears. "but you're so very kind to me...ya saved my life today....I wish you could come back..." they start to streak down her face, her face flushing, being upset

Billy quickly glanced up at her again. "No, no, no, none of that, now." He reached up, wiping one of the tear streaks from her cheek with his thumb. "Ain't nothin' I can do about it. I always seem to get myself in this kinda trouble wherever I go."  He slumped down in the chair, scratching his chin in thought
